Exploring the Mountains of Northeast Tennessee, Western North Carolina, and Southwest Virginia.
Introducing out-of-state family and friends to this area when they visit is something I love to do. But what's even more fun is to introduce people who have lived their entire lives in this region to the amazing beauty that's always surrounded them. I hope you like what you see and that you’re encouraged to venture out and explore this part of Appalachia for yourself! Thanks for stopping by -- I hope you'll also visit my blog, Appalachian Treks where you'll find descriptions and directions to the beautiful places you see here as well as daily posts of my latest work and adventures. You can also follow my most recent work via Facebook.

Thank you for touching my heart! I agree with the individual that saw the glory or our Heavenly Father within your photos. Through your photos, I also see the beauty in you.
What a great pleasure and privilege to view your photos. You have a gift of capturing on film the beauty that is already there! It's as if your looking through a window at the real thing! I would love to go hiking the Appalachian's. It is a dream of mine...I hope to in the near future! I will look you up when we come that way. Until then...Keep up the amazing work, Mark!
God is in your photos, thanks for sharing. I love to take photos here in WNC and East Tenn, strictly an amateur! I have a friend who has started a church in your area, Brian Smith, Baptist Pastor, who is from Elizabethon area. God Bless.
Very, very nice work. I am, particularly interested in the covered bridge, across the Doe River, near Elizabethton, TN. I understand you have several shots of this landmark. I want to give my wife's mother a framed picture of this bridge. She grew up in the area and often laments about these types of images from her childhood.
Please feel free to contact me. Thank you, very much.
After finding your photography on FB I just had to come see the rest of your work. Beautiful and inspiring! My heart is in the mountains even though I live on the *flat side* of Tennessee.
